A hyperlocal and location based social news app that will enable posting of user-generated contents which will be collaboratively verified by random users to curb the proliferation of fake news. Major activities on the app include:
- Users record news contents of happenings around them through videos or snapshots, add summarised text and location of the incident and post.
- Other users curate contents from other sites and post on VeriSpik for verification.
- Random users living within the geofence area receive alert of the breaking news and verify for authenticity.
- Random users fact check contents, give ratings, add multiple sources for authenticity and post.
- The app calculates the result, find the percentage and display result after 3 hours has elapsed.
- Verification result is displayed on the verification bar after 3 hours timeline.
- Users add comments to generates more discussions on the posts.
